As I got older, I missed my time in nature and decided to bring some inside with orchids and indoor plants. While my house doesn’t look like a jungle, it has enough greenery to settle my mind.
I started tending interior plants for aesthetic reasons, but have since learned there are many other benefits. Your indoor plants literally help clean the air you breathe. And, with all the pollution we face both indoors and out having a pretty and green plant in your workspace lessens the toxins you breathe. There are studies that show having plants within eyesight while performing stressful tasks actually lowers your stress level. A lower stress level leads efficiency and productivity. How fabulous! We can make our interior environment more beautiful and healthier at the same time. We all need healthier spaces in which to live and work.
Happy, healthy plants = happier, healthier people.
